What is coaching?
Coaching is a process of supporting the coachee to achieve his or her goal effectively. In a coaching session, the coach simply asks questions and create an open and safe space for the coachee to say “true words” from his or her heart, or even from the unconscious mind, hidden and well-protected, strongly guarded beliefs and thoughts built from the rational and logical thinking mega machines of the coachee. The coach looks at his or her own mindset and emotional and spiritual intelligence when listening to the coachee, and navigate through the complex and busy thinking in the answer. In this very moment, the coach develops and understands about him or herself more, and the coachee benefits the same by the mirroring process of these two individuals. The coach will just need to move the coachee from thinking to seeing, meaning explain and guide the coachee to stop the illusionary process that accumulates endless thoughts without looking at the truth or reality. Removing one illusion at a time, the coachee will slowly build confidence in his or her own wisdom and progress to the self-development journey ahead.
Who needs coaching?
A person that hits his or her ceiling of ability and happiness level will highly tend to look for a way to enter to the new phase of growth. Challenges shall come to give us a lesson, and they will repeat if we run away from these difficult moments. After exhausting all possible methods, the coachee will look for a coach, be it a spiritual guru, a new boss, a new partner, to fill up the void in his knowledge.
Why coaching and not training or self-learning?
Coaching is very effective to break the self-deception and illusion that we have a strong tendency to protect. The coach gives a chance for the coachee to see the coachee more clearly through reflective questions. Coaching will also help coachee to enter into the unknown mind realm, deeply change the mindset, not the surface behavior or skills.
